US Tax and Legal Issues

Signing the deal and receiving payment from a foreign entity can have all sorts of implications for your business. This eye opening session will introduce some of the most prevalent legal issues that arise when exporting to the US and discuss product liability abroad. To ensure you’re not blind-sided by potential tax challenges, we’ll also introduce to you taxation issues that you should consider when conducting cross-border trade with the US.

Terence Wong is the partner leading KPMG Edmonton's International Tax Practice and is part of KPMG’s National International tax network. Terence has assisted both large and small clients with their implementation of global tax reduction strategies; financing/investment using offshore entities; multi-jurisdictional tax compliance; international executive tax planning/compliance; and cross-border corporate reorganizations. Terence is a Certified Public Accountant registered with the Illinois Board of Examiners. He currently instructs a number of U.S. taxation professional development courses for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and is an instructor for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ In-Depth Tax Program.
